Engagement Session: Brianna & Kyle

When we found out we would be taking Brianna and Kyle's engagement portraits, we knew right away we wanted to create images that said young, cool and modern to reflect this couple's style. The first location that came to mind: the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Downtown Los Angeles. With its stunning stainless-steel curves designed by famed architect Frank Gehry, it was the perfect backdrop for this sassy couple! Brianna and Kyle came dressed to the nines (love her dress!) and ready for anything. As you can see, we had a lot of fun with these two! But before we called it a day, we headed over to Union Station for some romantic shots. (There's just something about trains and train stations.) Built in 1939, Union Station did not disappoint. We look forward to shooting Brianna and Kyle's wedding later this month. We know there will be lots of smiles, laughs and maybe some tears — we'll try not to cry, too! (To see the complete "sneak peek" engagement gallery, click here.)

Engagement Session: Ariel & Marc

We had a fun time photographing Ariel and Marc last weekend. We absolutely loved this couple's impeccable style (check out Ariel's fire-engine-red heels)! And the story of how they met reminded us a little of our own how-we-met story. Marc and Ariel were both in the choir at Cal State Northridge (where my husband and I met 15 years ago) when Ariel spotted Marc. She was a freshman majoring in journalism (like I was when I met Braden) and he was a handsome sophomore (like Braden). Years later they met again, they hung out ... and love took over. We wish them a lifetime of happiness, and we're really looking forward to shooting their wedding later this year. In the meantime, here are some of our favorites from their e-session! Santa Barbara Wedding: Melissa & Pete

This had to be one of the most memorable weddings we've had the privilege of capturing! Melissa and Pete are a lovely couple — inside and out — and their wedding site was stunning! The day began at the charming Inn of the Spanish Garden in Santa Barbara, where the bride and her bridesmaids prepared for the Big Day. Then, it was off to the ceremony site, the beautiful Santa Barbara Courthouse. The Spanish-Moorish architecture and details throughout made this site an amazing backdrop for a wedding. After a sweet champagne-and-cupcake reception surrounded by family and friends at a local park, the couple headed to one of their favorite hangouts, Dargan's, a fun Irish pub and restaurant near State Street. From beginning to end, it was a day full of love and laughter! What more could we ask for? Congratulations, Pete and Melissa! (To see the complete "sneak peek" gallery, click here. Yes, there's more!)
